A trust formed pursuant to a trust instrument or will, whose unexpired interests are solely devoted to charitable purposes and for which a charitable contribution deduction was allowed. A charitable trust may apply for federal tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
