A collection of resources to help employers understand various whistleblower reward programs and anti-retaliation protections available to employees under US federal law and create policies and procedures to address whistleblower complaints.
Many federal laws assist, encourage, and protect employees reporting violations of certain laws to their employers or regulatory authorities and prohibit retaliation against whistleblowers who engage in protected activities. Some laws also offer whistleblowers monetary incentives for reporting violations through a whistleblower reward program. The whistleblower protection laws are in addition to and separate from other employment laws with anti-retaliation protections, such as anti-discrimination and wage and hour laws.
This Toolkit offers employers and their counsel resources to help them:
