Goods and services tax (GST)
Goods and services tax (GST) is a tax of 10% charged on most goods, services and other items sold or consumed in Australia. To charge GST, an entity must be registered for GST. Entities are not required to register for GST unless their GST turnover is over a certain threshold. Entities charging GST can also claim credits for any GST included in the price of goods and services bought for the business.
