Center of Excellence (COE)
In the employee benefits context, a facility or network that provides access to a concentrated group of health providers and services in a particular area of health care (for example, organ transplantation, oncology, or cardiology). Some employer-sponsored health plans condition benefits, including reimbursement of travel and lodging expenses, on receiving care at a center of excellence.
