On 19 January 2010, the FRC issued a consultation document on a stewardship code that will set out good practice for institutional investors. The FRC agreed to take responsibility for oversight of the proposed code following the report in November 2009 by Sir David Walker on the corporate governance of banks and other financial institutions.
