This Practice Note provides an overview of the mediation process. It explains what mediation is and what happens at a mediation, as well as considering agreements to mediate, the role and liability of the mediator, confidentiality and privilege. While the focus of this Note is Ontario, many of the general principles will be equally applicable to other common law jurisdictions.
