General Contract Clauses: Choice of Forum | Practical Law

This choice of forum clause, also known as a forum selection or submission to jurisdiction clause, is intended for use by the parties to a commercial contract in order that they may choose the courts and appropriate jurisdiction to adjudicate disputes under the contract. The contracting parties should review the choice of forum clause together with any choice of law clause, as courts look to both provisions to determine whether to adjudicate the claim, and what law to apply. This Standard Clause has integrated drafting notes with important explanations and drafting and negotiating tips.
