Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) (生态环境部)
A central government ministry sitting under the
State Council
in charge of environmental protection administration in China.
The MEE's major functions include:
Formulating and implementing eco-environmental policies, plans and standards.
Monitoring environmental protection activities and performing enforcement duties.
Supervising and managing pollution prevention, nuclear and radiation safety.
Organising central environmental protection inspections.
