This Note provides an overview of the requirements, examinations, and ratings of banks under the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). The CRA subjects banks to periodic evaluations to ensure they are helping to meet the credit needs of the communities in which they operate, including low- and moderate-income neighborhoods.
