This Note provides an overview of the courts' treatment of arbitral sanctions and identifies the sources of authority for an arbitrator to sanction or otherwise address attorney misconduct under the rules of US arbitral institutions. It also explains the actions an arbitrator may take to address and sanction attorney misconduct during the arbitral proceedings.
