The Ministry of Justice has published a consultation seeking views on proposed revisions to Regulation (EC) 44/2001 on jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters (Brussels Regulation), in particular, whether it would be in the UK's national interests to opt in to the forthcoming negotiations on the proposed revisions. This update highlights those aspects of the consulation likely to be of most interest to finance lawyers.
