UK-EU trade and co-operation agreement (TCA)
An association agreement between the EU and Euratom, and the UK, which establishes the basis for a broad UK-EU relationship and provides a framework for co-operation in areas of mutual interest. The TCA:
Applied on a provisional basis from the end of the transition period and entered into force at 11.00 pm (UK time) on 30 April 2021.
Includes provisions on trade in goods and in services, investment, digital trade, intellectual property, public procurement, subsidy control, labour and environmental standards, aviation and road transport, energy, fisheries, social security co-ordination, law enforcement and judicial co-operation in criminal matters, thematic co-operation, participation in Union programmes, institutional arrangements, dispute settlement and safeguards (see Practice notes, Future UK-EU relationship agreements and UK-EU trade and co-operation agreement: overview of Part Two on trade and other arrangements).
