A Practice Note of the not-for-profit sector in China from the perspective of a foreign entity that wishes to conduct charitable activities in China. The Note describes the various forms of non-profit organisations (NPOs) in China, the regulators charged with registering and supervising these entities and the major compliance issues faced by China-registered NPOs and foreign non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that engage in philanthropic activities in China.
