Issues raised by two key consultations: ACER on REMIT and ESMA on EMIR | Practical Law
In June 2012, both the Agency for the Co-operation of Energy Regulations (ACER) and the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) published consultations for market participants on REMIT (the Regulation on wholesale market integrity and transparency) and EMIR (the Regulation on over-the-counter derivative transactions, central counterparties and trade repositories), respectively. This article considers some of the issues raised by the consultation papers, and outlines the areas where the input of market participants has been sought.
