Under the new law, both employees and independent contractors may file a complaint with the Colorado Department of Labor & Employment if they have a reasonable, good faith belief that their employer is committing a workplace violation of a government health or safety rule. The law became effective immediately upon Governor Polis' signing on May 31, 2022.
