Fair Work Information Statement
A document providing employees with information about their conditions of employment, compiled by the
Fair Work Ombudsman
(FWO) in accordance with
Division 12 of Part 2-2 of the
Fair Work Act 2009
(Cth)
(
FW Act
).
The Fair Work Information Statement must be given to every
national system employee
before, or as soon as practicable after, the employee starts employment (
section 125(1), FW Act
).
An employer's failure to provide the Fair Work Information Statement is a breach of a civil remedy provision (
section 44, FW Act
).
