The Rating (Empty Properties) Act 2007 received Royal Assent on 19 July 2007 (see Legal update, Royal Assent for property-related Acts).
The Act removes the 50% relief from business rates, which is currently enjoyed by commercial properties that remain unoccupied for more than three months.
