MaintainedEngland
A note on the support available for farmers and land managers in England under Environmental Land Management (ELM) and other rural financial assistance.
ELM focuses on the concept of public money for public goods and forms the basis of government reforms to agricultural policy post-Brexit as set out in the Agriculture Act 2020. Farmers are paid for public goods such as environmental improvements.
There are three schemes under ELM and these are set out in this note comprising Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI), enhanced Countryside Stewardship (instead of the originally conceived "Local Nature Recovery") and Landscape Recovery.
There are also other schemes offering financial assistance to support the 25 year environment plan, animal welfare and rural business productivity objectives.
