Glossary

Boilerplate

A term applied to provisions, often of a standard nature and common to most documents. Boilerplate provisions do not relate to the substantive parts of the contract but are necessary to make it work and regulate the operation of the contract. Example clauses would include definitions, commencement and termination, service of notices, disputes and conflicts of law.
