An overview of the Electronic Communications Code set out in the Digital Economy Act 2017 (DEA 2017) and the statutory rights the Code gives to telecommunications operators.
Note: Part 2 of the Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Act 2022 (PSTIA 2022) amends the Code. Although some sections of Part 2 are in force, a number of its provisions are still not yet in force. Its provisions are being brought into force in a piecemeal manner by regulations. For more information on Part 2 of PSTIA 2022, see Practice note, Part 2 of the Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Act 2022: overview.
As provisions of Part 2 of the PSTIA 2022 are brought into force, we will amend the body of the note.
