The Chancery Lane Project (TCLP)

A collaborative body of lawyers and legal professionals that facilitates drafting events that create climate focused model clauses for inclusion in commercial documents. Each clause is designed to help companies address a particular climate change related issue to help organisations to focus on, and move closer towards, net zero.
The model clauses are drafted collaboratively using "hackathon" and creative thinking techniques. Once drafted, each clause undergoes peer review by expert lawyers before publication, ensuring that they are technically correct and take into account existing environmental laws, policies and frameworks. The published clauses are based on the laws of England and Wales.
Model clauses have been drafted across a range of industry sectors and business operations, including banking and finance, supply chains, transportation and construction. Each clause is free to use by any party. The clauses are available at The Chancery Lane Project website.
