This note provides an overview of the use of Incoterms® in international contracts for the sale of goods. It explains the purpose, scope and differences between the individual Incoterms®, including when the use of particular terms is likely to be appropriate. This note also highlights common pitfalls when using Incoterms® and considerations when using both letters of credit and Incoterms®.
