Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA)

A regulatory authority established by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority Act 1998 (Cth) for the purpose of regulating bodies in the Australian financial sector. It is responsible for the licensing and prudential supervision of Australian authorised deposit-taking institutions. It is also responsible for the prudential regulation of life and general insurers and superannuation funds.
