A sample form of a basic supplier or vendor code of conduct, sometimes called supplier or vendor standards. Prepared by a product retailer, the code of conduct sets out the minimum requirements regarding fair and safe labour and environmental practices that manufacturers, suppliers, and other vendors must meet to sell goods to or do business with the retailer. These policies are an important part of a retailer's commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR).
