Resources that counsel can use when beginning a new estate planning representation with a client who is either married or unmarried with a partner. These resources can be customized for use in any US jurisdiction
A client may seek to retain estate planning counsel for estate planning matters, including:
- Creating a new estate plan for a client with no prior estate planning.
- Modifying or amending an existing estate plan, which may be done, for example, in response to a significant life event, such as a marriage or divorce, the birth of a child, or the receipt or anticipation of an inheritance.
A client may also seek to retain estate planning counsel for other purposes, including for representation in:
- An estate administration.
- A fiduciary capacity such as when the client is named as personal representative, executor, or trustee.
- An estate litigation.
