Ministry of Public Security (MPS) (公安部)

A ministry-level organ sitting under the State Council in charge of public security in China.
The MPS is responsible for matters including:
  • Crime prevention, investigation, and punishment of minor offences.
  • Exit and entry control and border security.
  • Registration of residence.
  • Traffic control.
  • Fire safety and control.
  • Internet control and security.
