State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) (国有资产监督管理委员会)

Created through the merger of functions from several other government organisations, to improve the management and regulation of state-owned assets in 2003. SASAC administers almost 200 central-level state-owned enterprises (SOEs). SASAC has counterparts at provincial and local levels of government that administer locally-owned SOEs.
