Ofcom statement on implications of Channel 4 financial review for PSB remit | Practical Law
Ofcom has published a statement setting out its views on the implications of its recent financial review of Channel 4 for the broadcaster's public service broadcasting remit. It concludes that Channel 4 does not need immediate financial help. However, Ofcom proposes to increase the monitoring of Channel 4's financial performance and fulfilment of its remit; to evaluate options for medium- to long-term intervention in the context of its public service broadcasting review in the autumn; and that Channel 4's board of directors should articulate its own vision for the broadcaster's future role in public service broadcasting.
