A Checklist assisting counsel who are evaluating whether one or more of the federal abstention doctrines apply to a particular federal action. This checklist addresses the threshold considerations common to all abstention analyses, different abstention doctrines potentially available in a federal action, as well as the contexts in which the various doctrines may apply depending on the circumstances of a parallel or related state court action.
