A Standard Clause that can be used by an importer of goods into the US to prohibit its foreign manufacturers or suppliers from using any form of forced labor in the production of the imported goods, including in their own supply chains. This clause helps to ensure compliance with Section 307 of the Tariff Act of 1930 (19 U.S.C. § 1307), which prohibits the importation into the US of goods made wholly or in part with forced labor, including forced or indentured child labor. Section 307 is enforced by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) operational directorate. This Standard Clause has integrated notes with important explanations and drafting tips.
