IP Australia has published information about its arrangements for continuity of service in response to COVID-19, in accordance with Australian Government requirements.

IP Australia: business continuity during COVID-19

IP Australia has published several updates, as part of its business continuity plan, to inform customers about the continuity of its services during COVID-19. The updates include information on the following topics:
  • Future hearings. Future hearings will be conducted by video conference, telephone or written submissions. Parties who have scheduled face-to-face hearings will be contacted regarding these options.
  • Processing arrangements for plant breeder's rights applications, including potential deferrals.
  • Extensions of time for patents, trade marks and designs.
