A note which considers the Restriction of Public Sector Exit Payments Regulations 2020 (SI 2020/1122) which applied from 4 November 2020 to cap exit payments in the public sector to a maximum of £95,000.
NOTE: On 12 February 2021, the government announced that the Regulations were to be revoked and that an HM Treasury Direction would disapply the Regulations until that time, see Legal update, Restriction of Public Sector Exit Payments Regulations 2020 to be revoked.
On 25 February 2021, the Restriction of Public Sector Exit Payments (Revocation) Regulations 2021 (SI 2021/197) were laid before Parliament. They came into force on 19 March 2021 and revoked the Regulations from that date, see Legal update, Restriction of Public Sector Exit Payments (Revocation) Regulations 2021 to come into force on 19 March 2021.
