Additional Insureds

An individual or entity specifically named and added to an insurance policy to provide the same protections as the named insured individual or entity, unless otherwise stated. Additional insureds can be added:
  • At the time the policy is executed in the policy declarations.
  • After the policy is executed in an addendum to the policy declarations.
For example, an additional insured may be a landlord on a tenant's insurance policies or a business on a hired contractor's insurance policies.
