Fair Work Inspector
For the purposes of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) (FW Act) and the Fair Work Regulations 2009 (Cth), either of:
- A person appointed as a Fair Work Inspector by the Fair Work Ombudsman under section 700 of the FW Act.
- The Fair Work Ombudsman in his or her capacity as a Fair Work Inspector, as provided for in section 701 of the FW Act.
The Fair Work Ombudsman may delegate any of its functions to a Fair Work Inspector (section 683, FW Act), including compliance powers. The FW Act gives Fair Work Inspectors certain powers to perform their role to promote and monitor compliance with relevant Commonwealth workplace laws.
