A Practice Note addressing the federal law, known as "Michelle's Law," that prohibits group health plans and health insurers from terminating coverage for a dependent child whose plan enrollment is based on student status at a postsecondary educational institution, if the dependent's student status is lost due to a medically necessary leave of absence.
