Established in Orlando in 1969 by four partners engaged primarily in real estate practice, Lowndes earned a reputation for its sophisticated real estate and land use counsel, and for talented attorneys with a strong work ethic and exceptional integrity. Dedicated at all times to an increasing demand for its services, the firm’s early recognition for its real estate savvy evolved and grew to include equal footing in a range of additional legal services expected by our clients. These included commercial litigation, tax, estate planning, construction, intellectual property, immigration, and labor law. Today, the firm's lawyers advise clients on almost every aspect of business from offices in Orlando, Gainesville, Melbourne, and Mount Dora: from copyrights and trademarks to high-stakes, high-profile litigation; from complex commercial and residential real estate issues to wealth management; from labor and employment law to healthcare; from capital raising and entity formation to corporate growth and expansion locally, nationally and internationally.
Throughout our history, Lowndes has concentrated a significant portion of its Real Estate practice on the representation of real estate developers in all aspects of their business, including acquisition/sale, finance, permitting, zoning and land use, leasing, management and tax planning. Our Real Estate practice also includes Commercial Leasing, Developments of Regional Impact (DRIs), Distressed Condominiums, LEED Green Construction, Property Rights Litigation, Property Taxes, Real Estate Development, and Real Estate Finance, among others. Our real estate attorneys are familiar with virtually every type of commercial real estate transaction, and regularly advise and assist clients regarding real estate matters in virtually all states. We have developed a network of due diligence providers and have forced working relationships with national offices of title insurers, surveyors, appraisers, environmental and other engineers, enabling us to provide access for our clients to professional services across the country and around the world.
