An overview of the European Commission's proposals for a European Deposit Insurance Scheme (EDIS), which is intended to provide a common system for the protection of depositors in the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM).

The note also considers the legislative progress of the proposed Regulation containing amendments to the SRM Regulation (806/2014) that will establish EDIS (EDIS Regulation).
