The Government has published its response (the Response) to the Communities and Local Government Committee's Report: The Supply of Rented Housing (the Report).
The Response considers recommendations in the Report relating to the supply, management, funding and regulation of the social and private rented housing sectors and identifies how both sectors may be affected by the proposed changes.
The Government's conclusions in respect of many of the recommendations in the Report will depend on the Housing Reform Green Paper and the independent review of the private rented sector that is being carried out by the Centre for Housing Policy at York University. Both of these are expected to be published later in 2008.
The Report and the Response will interest developers, private landlords, local authorities and housing associations.
