British Electricity Trading and Transmission Arrangements (BETTA)

The electricity trading and transmission arrangements that were introduced in 2005 to integrate the operation (but not ownership) of the Scottish transmission system with the English and Welsh system. BETTA introduced refinements to the New Electricity Trading Arrangements (NETA). BETTA is pronounced "better".
