Exempt charity
A
charity
that is exempt from the requirement to register with the
Charity Commission
(Commission) and is not directly regulated by the Commission because it is supervised by a government department or other public authority (known as a principal regulator, see

).
An exempt charity is distinct from the following types of charity:
