Reorganization

The restructuring of a corporation with continuing operations. The reorganization can be done in different ways such as changing the constitution of the organization, capital structure, debt financing, ownership, or management. Within the context of bankruptcy, a case filed under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code, with the goal of rehabilitating the debtor and restructuring its financial affairs, in contrast to a liquidation of the estate and distribution of the proceeds to creditors in a case filed under Chapter 11 or Chapter 7.
