On April 17, 2012, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) announced that it was indefinitely postponing the effective date of its rule requiring employers to post a notice informing employees of their rights under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) because of an injunction by the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
The NLRB acknowledged on April 17, 2012 that it was postponing the effective date of the rule requiring employers to inform employees of their rights under the National Labor Relations Act by posting a notice. The date is postponed because the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit issued an injunction pending appeal of Chamber of Commerce of the United States v. NLRB (see Legal Update, NLRB Poster Rule Enjoined Indefinitely: DC Circuit). The NLRB had previously postponed the effective date from November 14, 2011, to January 31, 2012 and from January 31, 2012, to April 30, 2012 (see Legal Updates, NLRB Postpones Deadline to Post NLRA Rights Poster and NLRB Postpones Effective Date of Notice of NLRA Rights Posting Rule to April 30, 2012).
