A boilerplate multi-tiered dispute resolution procedure clause, most commonly seen in commercial agreements, that sets out a process for resolving disputes through less formal dispute resolution procedures including internal negotiation and mediation, before or in parallel to court or arbitration proceedings. It is an alternative to Standard clause, Mediation clausewhich provides for the settlement of disputes through formal mediation.
