Over-the-Counter (OTC) COVID-19 Diagnostic Testing Rules for Group Health Plans and Insurers | Practical Law
An Article addressing guidance issued by the Departments of Labor (DOL), Health and Human Services (HHS), and Treasury (collectively, Departments) in January and February 2022 to clarify that group health plans and health insurers must cover over-the-counter (OTC) COVID-19 tests that are available without a health provider's order or individualized clinical assessment. In addition, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued Q&A guidance addressing how individuals may obtain OTC COVID-19 tests for free.
