This Standard Document sets out the rules and guidelines for employees' use of publicly available generative AI tools like ChatGPT in the workplace to perform routine tasks like conducting research or drafting documents. This Standard Document is not intended to govern AI use apart from generative AI tools or the use of generative or other AI tools to develop software or other technology products or services. This Standard Document applies only to private workplaces. State or local law may impose additional or different requirements, but this document is useful and relevant to employers in every state.
