Glossary

The System for Electronic Document Analysis and Retrieval (SEDAR) was an electronic means of submitting information to the Canadian Securities Regulatory Authorities and certain Stock Exchanges in Canada (the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE) and Cboe Canada require documents to be delivered directly to the exchange).

On March 23, 2023, the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) announced that the following will be effective June 9, 2023:

Adoption of National Instrument 13-103 System for Electronic Data Analysis and Retrieval + (SEDAR+) (NI 13-103) and Companion Policy 13-103 System for Electronic Data Analysis and Retrieval (SEDAR+) (13-103CP), see CSA Notice of National Instrument 13-103 System for Electronic Data Analysis and Retrieval + (SEDAR+) (Notice 13-103).
Repeal of National Instrument 13-101 System for Electronic Document Analysis and Retrieval (NI 13-101), which includes the repeal of the SEDAR Filer Manual, see Notice 13-103.
Consequential amendments and changes to existing instruments and policies as set out in Annex E to Notice 13-103.
Repeal and replacement of Multilateral Instrument 13-102 System Fees for SEDAR and NRD (MI 13-102) with a new instrument called Multilateral Instrument 13-102 System Fees, see CSA Notice of Repeal and Replacement of Multilateral Instrument 13-102 System Fees for SEDAR and NRD.

The CSA announced on June 1, 2023 that it intended to launch SEDAR+ on July 25, 2023, which it did. SEDAR is no longer available.
