This Checklist provides an understanding of Title 1 of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act)(Pub. L. No. 116-136 (H.R. 748)) and related legislation (Pub. L. No. 116-139 (H.R. 266)) enacted in response to the COVID-19 outbreak in the US. The Checklist explains the changes made by the CARES Act to the Small Business Administration's 7(a) Loan and Economic Injury Disaster Loan Programs and addresses practical considerations for borrowers. It also includes subsequent revisions to these SBA programs as additional legislation has been enacted, including through the enactment of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021.
