A Practice Note providing a general overview of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the two major US regulations governing exports and reexports. This Note also provides information about the Automated Export System (AES) reporting requirements under the Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR).
