In the Budget Statement made on 17 March 2004, the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced that, with effect from 1 April 2004, listed places of worship will be able to claim the full amount of VAT paid on eligible works carried out on and after 1 April 2004. Details were not made available immediately, but information has now been posted on the website for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
