On 6 November 2013, Directive 2013/50/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 October 2013 amending the Transparency Directive (2004/109/EC) was published in the Official Journal. Other than the insertion of dates, the text of the directive is the same as that published by the Council of the EU on 17 October 2013 (see Legal update, Transparency Directive: Council adoption of amending directive).

The amending directive will enter into force on 27 November 2013. Member states will be required to adopt the necessary measures to transpose the amending directive into national law within two years of its entry into force.
